How does Iroverse work?

In a sentence: choose someone, and keep her company. Here is what that looks like.

Meet a character
At the start, each of the five says one line to you. Then you choose the one you want to stay with. Each has her own life, her own tastes and her own starting point.
Talk to her naturally
Type what you would say, in your own words. When nothing comes to mind, there are suggested replies you can tap. She answers in her own way: the sharp-tongued one is sharp, the shy one is shy.
Make choices
Each day there are things to do together: baking, a walk, a call at night. Each one has a real decision in it. When she hits a hard part, do you take over or let her try? The options trade something off; none of them is simply nice or mean.
Her personality changes
How confident she is, how independent, how much she leans on you, how plainly she says what she feels: all of it moves with how you get along. You never see a number. You see her talk and act differently, and her profile describes, in words, who she is now.
She remembers what you shared
What you like, promises between you, things you did together: she keeps them and brings them up later, naturally. You can open what she remembers at any time, and delete anything you would rather she did not keep.
Some consequences come back later
Brush her off when she is upset and she will not blow up then and there, but a couple of days later she is still a little distant, until you ask or apologise. After a failure, if someone encouraged her, she may try again on her own and can’t wait to tell you.
Every player’s version can differ
Same character, same starting point. She becomes who you raise, and yours may be unlike anyone else’s.
